I’m an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Carleton College. Prior to joining Carleton, I was postdoctoral researcher and Computing Innovations Fellow at the University of Washington’s Center for Learning, Computing, & Imagination. I earned my PhD and M.S. from the University of Chicago, and my B.S. from the University of Virginia, all in Computer Science. My scholarship includes computing education research and human-computer interaction, particularly in critical and effective technology learning experiences for youth. I have been named a Harper Fellow, an EECS Rising Star, and an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. My work has won multiple Best Paper-type awards at the International Computing Education Research Conference (ICER) and the conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI).
